No padlock icon

When I go on to a secure website I don't get the padlock icon displayed at the bottom of the window.

I'm using IE7.

Is it an option to enable the icon?

When I double click where the padlock should be the security certificate is displayed, but still no padlock icon.

Padlock is now displayed at the top next to the address bar
