OK I'm not on a super computer (Athlon 2000, 512 meg, win98, firefox 2.0.01).
Page loads take FOREVER, the formatting of the long pages is really slow & cripples my machine.
Is it just me?
Can we have a SN Lite version - without all the bells & whistles.
I for one am using the forums a lot less because of this (think of the loss of ad revenue webbie), and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

You aren't the only one. I posted in the Bugs section about this problem and was surprised no-one else was seemingly suffering this problem.
It is on webbys list of things to sort out.

I've noticed no change in the function of the site, speed is the same, layout the same for me etc etc.
Is it only SN causing the issues, or any other sites?

Are the people that are suffering with the slow loading times using IE7?
Just a thought as I am at home and it takes a lot longer than at work (work is only on a comparable connection). The only difference being IE6 at work and IE7 at home.
I do notice the IE7 'Phishing Filter' working away once the header has loaded.
Maybe this is causing it?
