Default Vista OEM

Hi

Just wondered if anyone knew whether I can install this to the same computer (same motherboard) twice. I would like to trial it on a spare hard drive first!

Cheers - any ideas appreciated!

I've heard that if you don't enter the license key when installing (leave it blank), it will install a 30 day trial version. I've not tried it myself, but it should give you ample time to evaluate it

Thanks very much.

I just thought that as OEM Vista appears to lock itself to a motherboard, then changing the hard drive might be OK......? Just didn't want to do the wrong thing and not be able to use it again!

If u can get hold of Vista enterprise that version uses a MAK or corp key, so your issues are not a problem then

I have Vista OEM Ultimate. I am not convinced that drivers etc are ready yet for me to confidently install it...

I just installed vista ultimate, nice os some nice features and graphically pleasing.

tho software compatibility is an issue at the moment til updates are released.

yes if you install it without entering a key it has a 30 day trial unless you have the means of removing it

So would you advise doing this with my spare hard drive first?

Sony don't seem to have the drivers for my Vaio laptop!

Cheers

I can't see how a MAK key will help, as it will still require activation via Microsoft and deplete your MAK pool.

True. But the MAK keys have a 50 user license on some of them, well mine did I'm posting this now on fully activated Enterprise.

Whereas most of the other versions only have a 10user license.

This is why Norton Ghost is so valuable
