Whats my Dell PC worth?
I am thinking of selling my current PC, Dell 8300 and I would like to know what it might be worth.
Specs:
Dell Dimension 8300
Pentium 4 3.0GHz with HT technology
80gb HDD
120gb Seagate Barracuda
1gb DDR RAM
128mb ATI Radoen 9800 Pro graphics card
Creative Soundblaster Audigy sound card
16x DVD R + RW Dual layer
DVD ROM drive
6 USB 2.0
2 firewire 400 ports
network ethernet port
Front
1 USB 2.0
1 F/W 400
Dell 18" Ultra Sharp TFT
Dell Keyborad
Logitec MX 518 mouse
Microsoft Office 2003 Pro
What might this be worth?
Cheers
-Darren

I have the same PC albeit with a secondary hard drive I fitted myself , Not sure it would be worth selling for such a paltry amount it still does everything I want it to do. For that amount I would keep it and use as a back up.
Mine cost just shy of £1700

I too fitted my 120gb seagte HDD myself and the RAM .
When I was ordering it, the price origanlly came to £1,950 and the guy somehow got it down to £1,730 approx. Was worth it tho for what I got then.

I am really thinking about 'switching'. I have done for about 3 or 4 years now. I supose I could give this PC to my dad for him to use for things like checking emails, surfing the web and sorting/editing his pictures taken from his D80.

pcs loose their value too quickly, thats why ive got the 360 & playing that rather than spending double on a pc graphics card that wont be up to scratch in 6months time. The graphics card & cpu is the only real expense in a pc, the rest have no real value. As said above, software license is worth more.

yes, and?
oh and that was about that time i built mine. It was the graphics card that was all the expense. Its not a Dell so it didnt cost that much....

Well everything has a baring on the speed of the PC .. bearing, baring.. I dunno, anyway, I'd say Memory (which the good stuff costs quite a bit) and CPU would be the main points for system speed, then Graphics, hard drive speeds, etc

I brought this PC for my University degree in graphic design, so really I am not suprised it is not really worth much. I don't really play PC games, only really Halo.
