I'm still playing resistance FOM.... its ok. not great but ok none the less. Haven't really had time to play anything else yet, but played lots of movies.
Best £425 - not really but who cares lifes too short! Haven't played on my XBox 360 either, but PS3 takes priority when I get some time.

Love my PS3, on it everyday, RR7, Resistance (completed once, starting again with the extra weapons), Blast factor is great for £3.50.
Got mine for £420 new, 2 controllers with RR7, Resistance & COD3 so I'm more than happy with it tbh (the extra £600 for a 40" HD kinda pushed the price up though).

They are not identical at all, the Sony hardware is considerably more advanced, and will come into its own once the developers get to grips with the tools.
What you *should* have said is that the current launch generation of games are practically identical on both machines. I had someone (senior programmer on a big PS3 game for later this year) that he was only using something like 30% of the PS3 capability for this first game whereas the 360 version was basically maxed out already as they have got to grips with it and the tools are more refined.
He said that their 2nd gen games on PS3 will be spectacular. I also got to see some demo's from a team that already has a title out and has really got to grips with the hardware and it was honestly one of the most amazing things I have ever ever seen. Utterly revolutionary.
Me? I'm still playing Crackdown interspersed with Boom Boom Rocket.

I'm just quoting what I've read from several leading developers on the interweb. It seems a common thread that the 360 actually has a slight edge where graphical grunt is concerned, but the PS3 has the edge where processing power is concerned.
That's what they said about the Dreamcast
Difficult to say that though. There are not many games that are actually available for both platforms yet, and the ones that are (Obvilion for example) have had an extra 1.5 years of development over the 360 version (so I'd expect them to look a lot better than they actually do to be honest).
Interesting. I've read a similar quote (from Bizarre amongst others) that they were only using a fraction of the 360's power for the current crop of games, and there was a lot more to come. I take statements like this with a definite pinch of salt. I don't believe any of it until I see proof. It's just all talk and vapourware until it actually appears. Just because somebody says they have maxed out the system, doesn't mean that they can't extract more from the machine, it simply means they need to write more efficient code. If I wanted to, I could max out the power of the new machines with a simple pong game, (using particularly dodgy code). I have a feeling that statements like this have much more to do with who is paying their wages than actual fact
So next year sometime then. I'll look forward to seeing them. Hopefully by then there might be some titles around by then to make it worth buying one....

Not sure about that. Since I got the 360, I've hardly touched the PC for gaming, (and I've got a pretty decent rig with a 8800GTX card in it). I just haven't seen any PC games that have interested me for ages (plus most pc games seem to be full of bugs these days..)

So you know Pedro's financial situation then to assume he is green eyed
How can you say using money wisely is pathetic lol! Such an intellectual statement
PS3 is currently a good value HD player but an over priced games console with a rubbish line up of games!

Come back when you can read posts properly and don't feel the need jump to incorrect conclusions in defence of your mate.

Well, still lovin' Motorstorm online play, also RFOM death match is great.
Been playing Blazing Angels as well, whilst the graphics could have been a lot better (both detail and update wise) the game is great
Thinking about getting a second one for upstairs, largely for blueray support, but also gaming.
Just preordered Spiderman 3 and BF: Bad Company - the latter I'm REALLY looking forward to.
Also preordering Burnout 5, Tekken 6 and Killzone 2.

Er, no, nor do I care. I was actually making an observational comedy remark about the fact that the smiley he used was green, and rolling its eyes Obviously missed the mark with that one.
Again, re-read my post. I didn't say using money wisely was pathetic, did I? I said his *attitude* was pathetic.

And as for my 'pathetic attitude', I think you'll find that it is more of an 'opinion', and you're the one who appears to have 'attitude'
It matters not how wealthy one might be.. bragging (badly) about it is definitely pretty pathetic.
However, I strongly suspect that you got drawn in to slagging me off purely in an attempt to qualify your very funny 'observational comedy'

Fair enough. I just can't play FPS games with a pad and god knows how they'd fit all the shortcuts of an RTS into a joypad.

Oi don't get me involved with your arguments besides the M3's not mine, its the wifes
Pedro
I was actually refering to the posters topic of whether its the best £425 i've spent and when comparing it to the phone it does alot more. I'm just fed up with people whinging about what the PS3 does and don't do. I happen to think that £425 is'nt expensive and that the PS3 is not the rip-off that everyone says.
