I am not very techinally minded but have tried all I can to fix the problem e.g making sure volume in on etc but cant get any sound out of my toshiba laptop it just seemed to stop for no reason a few months ago. it wont play any sound at all even from cds. Everything looks normal on volume settings. please can anyone suggest any way to solve this?

You could go into 'control Panel' and check the 'Sounds and Audio devices' my PC at home has a tendency to mute itself for no reason.
