got a new TV ariving in the next few weeks so figured it was time to get the proper cable for High Def
bought this from fleabay
eBay.co.uk: Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable Game console link cable (item 300113916110 end time 25-May-07 15:28:44 BST)
arrived today, package was opened, although it was opend very carefully, and to anybody untrained they would probably assume thats how it opens, its only because i remember how much of a ballache the headset and hard drive was to open that i thought it a little strange
anyway, its proper MS packaging, but the cable inside has no MS logos ?
its all in the correct grey cable colours, but the standard corepackage cable i removed has gold plugs on the end and some microsoft stuff at the console end
this new cable has no microsft wording on it anywher, silver plugs and a little switch which says "TV/HD TV" there is alsy a small optical sound type connector which lights up red.
does this sound genuine?
seams strange having gold plugs on the core packaged lead and silver on the "better" one

Have you got an actual picture of the item and the conection that plugs into the xbox. If it looks like the pic on the link it's not an official one. The official one should have one of the plugs that go into the T.V all white and another all red too. Mine does anyway

look so far at pictures of the madcatz and joytech versions and its not one of them ![Confused](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
really strange, it looks so close to the microsoft core onem the plugs look the same, exceopt the core package lead has small mouled speakers and stuff on the jacks, the new component one does not have this

Looking at the auction there is no mention that its a genuine MS cable, there are a lot of fake look-a-likes about. The packaging should be hard to open as you mentioned and can never be opened non-destructively.

Can you have the older models fixed ? The reason I ask is because I bought one of the first ones about 6 months ago but i was that dissapointed with the Xbox problem it has ended up in the bedroom and i bought another T.V
