Any Archos Experts?
I am looking to use an Archos or similar for a little project. I need to connect a mini CCTV camera to the Video In and then record the footage on the Archos - onto an SD card would be perfect.
Any ideas - I don't refer me to eBay!!!
Cheers

We sell the AV404 Archos units, for use with our track cameras.
The units themselves are pretty good, but need the optional travel kit to be able to record from an camera (+£30 ish)
However, I would add that the archos hard drives are not very resiliant to shock and vibration, so if you're looking to use it in a car with hard suspension or on a bike, you'd be better of with a solid state unit, else risk corrupted recordings.

Cheers Neil. They are to be used in a training environment so no worries with vibration. Would need the 704 model too as I need the 7" screen.
Have ordered one + the DVR to have a play with on Monday

I was looking at an Archos (including the combined camera and connector) for action footage (e.g. Go-karting) but was disappointed in the fact that it was only VGA resolution.
In the end i bought an Action Camera from Firebox for just under a ton (still VGA, but faaar cheaper). Records directly to SD card (a 20 quid 2GB will record an hour) and is water (well, splash) proof.
It only has USB 1 for direct connections, so buy a multi-card adapter for faster uploads.
