Yeah playing it now and it's bonkers.
I love the 20's 30's theme etc
Only problem with it is that there's too many weapon/plasmid choices so still trying to get to grips with it.

Yea there are too many plasmids, and you can only carry up to 6 at one time...thats if you have purchased extra slots.
Im on 'Fort Frolics' at the moment...its getting a lot harder as there are many more enemies!

me to it's the nuts, playing it on PC
I'm upto Fort Frolics as well.
I tend to only use a couple of plasmids (lightening, telekinesis & the one that makes them attack each other) & the (upgraded ) pistol

Major problems trying to play Bioshock - screen keeps locking up - any ideas anyone. My machine is a Medion 8800 with twin Pentium processors (2800) with a GeForce 6700 PC I Express Graphics card. Surely the unit SHOULD play this game - can anyone enlighten me. Apologies if I've hi-jacked this thread.
thanx in anticipation.

Yep, a little too easy but great game - lots of effort gone into all aspects of it.
Only thing that irked me was the boss at the end.
Took about 20 goes before I gave up , then I switched on a week or so later and did it first time. Most disappointing ending after all that work.
Best game i've played in years though of this type.

I'm not sure what you're saying! Is my set up underpowered or should I try changing the setttings? I've already updated all the drivers. The person I bought the game from tells me that there can't be anything wrong with it as he has just finished playing it without any problems! Helppppppp!

So as it stands, you are playing on a Pentuim 4 2800 and a 6700.
Just about minumum spec in other words - You need to turn the detail level right down. Drop the resolution to 800x600 and then tweak things up until you have a detail level/framerate trade off you are happy with.

I am guessing that the game is not reconising two processors - It's not like a sual core mashine, it is litereally dual processors and not evey application will support those.

As for the game, excellent, very atmospheric. I need ot find a gene bank in Fort Frolic to change to the rage plasmid as I can't kill all those buggers that come at you at once!
And those big daddies or whatever they are, they are tough to kill!

Just figured out about the camera. . .
Level each creep type up twice - you get free plasmids!
Got one which turns you invisible another which reveals hidden sections to give you goodies!

You should use the camera at every opportunity - not only does it give you plasmids, but it gives you damage buffs against the particular enemy you have photograph - And you get acheivements for fully researching an enemy.

Dont forget to photograph cameras, turrets and the flying bot thingys aswell

Oh and another tip, don't always blindly follow the arrow to each goal. Use the map to find places on the level you have missed (in a darker colour) as there are usually goodies in them.

anyone figured out what the point of freezing an opponent is yet? (you hit em em when frozen and they pop = no loot) it has no affect on the daddies other than to slow em up for a second.
Good on turrets & alarms tho

Other than that not really, most of the plasmids/upgrades are not needed.

i saved them all, every single one, i even got the "saved all little sisters achievement to prove it, but the game would not give me the "dealt with all little sisters" achievement, i went back and visited every single level, no little sisters to be found at all
from that point onwards i decided it was a crappy glitchy game, never touched it again and i traded it in.
