Whenever I boot up my Thinkpad it defaults to a screen asking you to put in the date/time etc, before starting up.
I wondered if there was a battery somewhere (not the main one) that stores stuff like time/date etc when the laptop is switched off - and is it easy to replace?

it should be under the memory stick, underneath the laptop should be a little door and screw, open that and have a look underneath, that's where it is on my thinkpad x22

On the Thinkpad T20 I think you'll find the BIOS battery under the main battery. Just pop the main battery out and you should see the BIOS battery.
This is the kind of thing you need
