Default XBox360 game problems

Hi,

I have had my xbox for just over a year now. I bought Forza motorsport 2 back in july and after 2 days of playing it, the screen froze before the menu even comes up. I sent this game back to where i got it from, and they then sent me another one. After about a month of playing this game, it did exactly the same thing, the screen keeps on freezing on the "press A" menu . I am unable to play this game now. I spoke to microsoft and they say that its not the xbox as my console plays other games. (coinsedence that two of the same game have packed up)

I also have a problem with FIFA 08. Everytime i stick the disk in, it starts to load but then the console goes all quiet and a message comes up saying, "cannot read the disk, the disk is dirty, clean with a soft cloth". I have cleaned the disk so many times it cant get any cleaner, but the message is still appearing. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know what it could be?

Many thanks

I know Forza is the most problematic game for the 360, but thats usually after playing it for a while.

I'd say it was your 360 that was at fault.

My X360 used to do this all the time (withing 20-50 mins of playing).
Particularly bad with Dead Rising, but some other games as well.
I found out it was overheating, so I pulled the X360 out of the video cabinet, so it had better circulation and it used to stay up longer.

I invested in an Intercooler, and I've not had a problem since.
X360 cooling causes the Red Ring of Death problem.
Stick an Intercooler on and the difference is massive.
Only downside is its a bit noisier, but then the X360 is loud anyway, compared to my silent PS3 :-)

Not a good idea. They have been known to break machines.

The PS3 isn't silent

You must have bought a duff one then - I can't hear mine at all when its on, and I leave it on quite a bit in the evening for DLing stuff.

Either that or you're deaf

The fans and blu-ray drive all make whirring noises. Not as loud as the 360, but certainly not silent.

I have a very ocasional fan noise, but its much quieter than both my 360 and my Topfield.

I sometimes forget its on, if it wasn't for the bright blue/green leds.

I got a postman i know who has Xbox 360 to try forza and fifa to see if they work on his console. He came back today and said Forza freezes on his but he got fifa 08 working, but it still doesnt work on mine. He thinks that the lense on my console is too low and is scratching the disc. Anyone know anything about this problem, or how much it will cost to be repaired??

Your disc drive is on the way out the next message you will get is please put this disc in a xbox 360. Intercoolers are bad news the 12v ones will get you banned off xbox live and the 5v ones can do this.

It'll be free if it's 12 months or less, or if you get the RROD it'll be free no matter how old it is.

over a year old now, only had the 3 red lights flash once, think it was because the console had overheated.

I'm currently at level 32. The endurance races aren't that bad to be honest, they tend to take about 45/50 minutes which isn't that much longer than completing a normal 3 or 4 race competition anyway but with a lot more cash as a reward.

Have you raced online yet? We ought to set up Impreza only race.
