Cool

On our wokr PCs (XP Pro), just alt+ctrl+delete and then lock

DO a Google I'm sure you'll find it

In XP just hold down the Windows key (between Ctrl and Alt on bottom left) and then press the "L" key and release. Locks desktop instantly assuming you normally have to login.

Cheers

I think it would be alot easier to unplug the keyboard and take it with you.

Quickest way to create a shortcut on the desktop is to browse my computer and find the folder or file you want to shortcut, then either drag it to the desktop holding the ALT key so a little arrow appears, or right clicking the file and click Send To > Desktop As Shortcut

Not being funny but why would you need to download a third party program to lock your computer??

What's easier than Windows key + L????

maybe he has staff that will tamper with the pc?

no idea about the windows thing myself, never used it, i had one chap who would get around the cctv dvr system by CTRL+ALT+DEL and close the program down, get up to no good online/do fiddle jobs behind my back, then restart the program to avoid detection.

just looked like no motion detecting had been done in the time frame to me.

till i caught him

then he resorted to tripping the power out and restarting it later, but a UPS soon fixed that little problem plus sacking the little waste of space

Never tried it but i'm asumming the password will be the same password you log in as when starting xp (if you have auto login then it'll be the password you specified when installing xp)
