The xw4400 is the entry model of HP's Workstations and a older version of it. The new description is xw4600. DVD/CD-RW combo drives are nowadays going for the same price as DVD-RW. The processor is also early last year stuff. As you all know the new Intel processors 65nm & 45nm are called Intel Core 2 Duo or Intel Core 2 Quad (probably Core 2 Octa in the future). Also, the Hard Disk is not so big and most likely a slower version than what today's standard would be. A new xw4600 Workstation should be available for about £ 550.00.

xw4400 is an excellent workstation. rock solid build.

me just got some new xw4600 but my desktop itself is a xw6400.
