Your PC encodes the audio data into packets and sends them down the USB interface. The speakers will have a microprocessor in them running a USB client, it will be able to decode the audio packets coming across the USB interface.
It then has to clock the audio data (samples) out to digital to analogue converter (DAC) devices, assuming it's stereo they'll be two one for left one for right. The DAC turns the digital data back into an analogue signal which would then be amplified and finally fed into the speaker where it will come out as sound
