The soul still burns...
So, we are a week away from Soul Calibur 4.
And I am no nearer a decision as to which platform to buy it on.
On the one hand, I much prefer the 360 controller for SC (SC2 is regularly in my 360), plus live. On the other hand, PS3 has Darth Vader. Completely undecided
Anyway so far I have heard that there is some form of tag battle, and from the people that have managed to get hold of a copy, there is no vs team battle from the outset (I pray to the big console god in the sky that it is an unlockable like in SC2)
Any other news?
Oh and before I forget, I'm about the best person on the the planet at SC2, so expect to have your asses handed to you on a plate if you ever see me on Live/PSN

There's talk of Vader being available on the 360 later as DLC . . . Rumor: Vader DLC to darken SoulCalibur IV - Xbox 360 Fanboy

I think it's just that; A Rumour. I can't see it happening myself.
I really can't see why they didn't just have both in both versions.
I'm erring towards the 360 verison at the moment.

"Some Zelda character"?
Shame on you
Heihatchi was on the PS2 version.
SC2 has been the pinnacle for me so far, it is just perfectly balanced.

**** I'd ordered mine from play, but since some scabby tw@t decided to clone my credit card, I've had it cancelled and am awaiting a new one. Sooooo wanted to play it this weekend. Did you get the free triggers bundled in as well and have you tried them?

No, it came with a face-plate for the 360. I haven't had a look in on the game yet, my little girl is playing on it as Yoda !!! Graphics are superb though !

So what you gone for Pete if any ?
It's not really done anything for me on day 1, nice gfx and fluid play but that rpg crap is getting annoying, why do they think we take pleasure in collecting 6000 different bracelets and nik naks.
Online is ****ing rediculous, they offer a choice of custom or quick search (which is a standard these days), firstly custom, you enter your criteria (a choice of 2 options) then see all the lobbies, click on any of them, oh they are full, surprise surprise, a game of 1 on 1 is full, other option is quick search, oh, game is full, press ok and click search again, wtf is it simple enough for them to keep searching until a game comes up???
Point me in the right direction because i'm just not feeling it

Neither yet. The seeming lack of Vs team battle has really put me off. The fact that it seems increasingly likely that vader will appea ron 360 and yoda on PS3 eventually is pushing me towards 360, purely on a controller issue.
THings is , for me, Soul calibur is all about sitting on a sofa with a few mates and few beer. With vs team battle you have a per game time of about 10 minutes. When you have to keep choosing characters after ever bout you end up spending more time choosing an dloading than you do fighting.
I have put probably hundreds of hour sin the Soul calibur series, 3 left me a bit cold and I was hoping for 4 to go back to the quality of 2.
THat said, I have this morning had a bit of a sort out and I have about 10 old PS2/PSP/GC games to trad ein, if they get to about £30 then i'll add the extra tenner and pick it up today. I won't pay £40 for in on principle.

Well there's a spare character slot on 360, and i assume on ps3 so it's very likely it will be dlc for the vader/yoda characters.
I can't for the life of me pull off the critical finish moves arrrgghhh

(I.e. your opponenets needs to block loads)
I picked it up today on 360. Really enjoying it. Had a few online bouts - won 6 lost 1.
