is there software that will find out what is a broadband contention ratio is? (this is for ISP outside the UK)

Used to be a bt application that would tell you what their ratio's where but i don't think its supported anymore i.e. won't work. Don't know of any others and particularly not for outside the uk.

General approach is usually if your speed tests are low then you either have a contention issue or alternatively it's a throttling issue. What's the problem with just emailing the provider and asking what their max ratio is though?
