Thinking of going to Linux - novice questions.....
#1
I've been toying with the idea of putting Linux on my home PC. I've checked out the driver situation, except I have a film scanner, and the vendor, Canon don't list a Linux driver.
The Scanner is connected via an Adaptec SCSI card, so that is no problem, but any ideas where I might look for the 'equivalent' of a TWAIN driver?
Cheers
Tim

I'm running Linux and a scanner- SANE is the package that you want. It supports practically anything! I'm using an Epson GT9500 which isn't supported at all under Windows2K but scans brilliantly under SANE.
It is "plug and play" too.
