I haven't found a way as Apple doesn't support Flash (which is what the iPlayer uses). You can download an application if you would like to stream Absolute Radio (it is in the Application Store).

Griffin Technology has this. Apple does/did have some FM transmitter thing for the iPod and I'm not sure if it works with the iPhone, but have a feeling it does not.

There is an app called Wunder Radio which might be of use.

Marcus, do you know when/if the Itouch and IPhone devices will be able to display Flash content?

I've got it on mine - it's very easy...

Download a free app from the Apps Store called "FStream"... and then set-up the various Radio 1, Radio 2 etc. streams as follows:

Name: BBC Radio 1 (2,3,4, etc.)

URL: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r1.asx (r2.asx, r3.asx, r4,asx, etc.)

Format / Bitrate - just leave as they are...

Works a treat (most of the time!)

HeartFM also have a very good app in the Apps Store for streaming all of their local radio stations.

Both of the above work over 3G (cellular data) as well as over wifi...

It's not a case of being able to - as I'm sure they could technically do it now - it's more a case of Apple controlling what's done with the iPhone and Flash would open up a whole raft of very complex / powerful applications that could potentially run on the iPhone with zero control from Apple.

Will it EVER appear - doubtful I guess, given the level of control that Apple would need / want...

I'll echo what the good Doctor says. It's rumored that Adobe do have a version of flash for the iPhone/iPod Touch but Apple won't put it on the iPhone, for the reasons DN mentions and I can see why they are concerned. They like the App Store and the control it gives them, and for the most part it's good for consumers, but it's not always an ideal model for developers.

I think what is probably happening is some discussion between the parties as to the possibility of a flash lite for the iPhone, and some way to restrict what will run in it, thus preventing dodgy apps, I'm not even sure if that level of control is possible though.

There is also an app called Shoutcast which is very good for internet radio, developed by those at Winamp I think - I use it a lot for dance stations.
