Default Internet slow but not slow?

Bit bizzare but i,ll explain

Have been weith the current isp for 2 years now, (BE) always been solid & reliable at 3.0mbs

A few months ago they did the security update to the boxes, and from that point on my internet has become flaky.

I phoned them up and reset the box, however it didn't resolve the connection issues...

Another call, and they tell me im on a reduced speed for reliability.. WTF...

i asked them to take it back to what it should be (3.0mbs) and all was well..

now its tailed off again,

Ive been using DMT to tweak the router to see if i can improve things, but with little success, I,m at 2.0Mbs, now and the problem still persists..

Basically i can connect to a web page fine, I can use XBL live to play online games fine, but if i try to surf two or three sites at once, it looses the web connection, and has to re handshake the connection...

This results in time outs or page not found issues..

My ping comes back as A rated, and my download data and Png are pretty good, (anywhere between 38ms & 55ms)

Any ideas what could be causing this bottleneck

Have you tried playing with your Broadband profile?

If you log in, go to MyAccount you can then say whether you want speed or reliability and whether you are a gamer....

Have you tried posting to the Be forums? I've found them pretty good and the tech support guys also lurk in there so will chip in where they can.

Did you send me a message on the Xbox? I'm having all sorts of problems with the internet connection on there!

You may also want to try a different router -- I didn't like the speedtouch. If you are anywhere near me I have a Netgear DG that you can borrow that was connected to my BE Account until I bought a Draytek.
