My daughter got herself a webcam this week and uses it to call her mates and she can phone us through Skype for free. No "girlie has webcam" jokes please ![Suspicious](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/Suspicious.gif)
But the picture quality is pretty poor and perhaps I am expecting too much.
The webcam will be at the cheap end of the market and she uses a reasonable spec Toshiba laptop. We have a stand alone 3-year old PC. She would normally phone at night under artificial lighting.
So what, if anything, is likely to be the weak point in the set-up?

David,
What resolution is the camera? some of the cameras at the lower end of the market are not the greatest for picture quality, my laptop have a 1.3Megapixel one, and that seems to be pretty useable on the rare occaions i have used it.
