Default PS3 update 3.10

Anyone downloaded this yet?

It took an age to download and promised much, including Facebook integration and Polish language support!

Strangely the very popular iPlayer has disappeared. You can access it through the browser and it comes up as the PS3 iPlayer - but why drop it off the menu?

Wierd indeed.

And all this took three hours to download!

Mines still there It'll come back, some say after doing a hard reset, some after accessing Home, some just after some time. It's only a browser shortcut, I'd rather not have it there to be honest.

Mine only took ten minutes or so, but you can download it and install via USB if you prefer. It is around 165Mb from what I remember, so it's not small.

I didn't realise you could download it via a PC and then upload - that'll be much easier.

And you are right - after a restart the iPlayer reappeared. Personally I like it!

Not getting much joy out of the Facebook interface!

Don't get me wrong iPlayer is a great thing to be able to access via youur console. I just debate whether those that use it are in the majority and therefore it should be in your face on the XMB. I'd rather have an option to hide it - and any menu options I don't want to see for that matter

Haven't tried the Facebook integration yet.

Cool

The Facebook bit is only to show trophies and some other stuff on your Facebook page. I doesn't allow you to do any normal browser type stuff, you still have to us the browser for that!

Don't see the point to be honest.

I wish theyd spend their time on doing useful stuff like allowing you to edit your friends list names to something meaningful so I dont keep forgetting who people are.

Oh and being able to customise the XMB to open where you last left it i.e. starting a game - Im sure it used to do this but now it opens on PS Store Icon or something.

You can still do that. There's a 'Display What's New' option in the Settings menu which allows you to change what the system displays by default on startup. Mine goes straight to the Games menu onto the loaded disc.

I thought when I posted that one that it would probably be possible. Will check that out later as could save me an average 4secs per game playing session

It's a handy option, as with one press of the X button the game is already loading before the TV has fully woken up

Cool that works a treat. Although I must admit I thought from your post it was customisable where you start - all I could see was the option to turn "Display whats new" on / off and that then defaults back to the old choice of game disk.
