Partitioning an XP Hard disc.

Is it true you have to format the HD, create the drives you want and then reload XP [or any other MS OS].
I will have a 40Gb HD and want:
5GB for system files
15GB for work
15GB for Dreamweaver/Photoshop/Video
5GB for mail and assorted foolishness
Cheers

You need to get hold of a copy of PartitionMagic. This will allow you to repartition on the fly and you will not have to re-install anything.
You can buy it in the shops (PCWorld etc), or you could possibly get a 'dodgy' copy off Morpheus or KaZaA (but I didn't tell you that ;-)).
Oh, BTW you should really backup all your data in case PartitionMagic goes wrong, but I've done loads of re-orgs with it and never lost a byte, so it's pretty robust.

Thanks guys.
By dynamic disks do you mean external hard drives?
Machine will have combo DVD/CD-RW and FD. I may get an external zip drive. Will partition magic conflict with this?
