IFAIK the 5800XM code is only available from your service provider. It can be unlocked via a box also but you will need to find some one with the kit. I have a man at our local market with all the gear or you can use a postal service, These guys are exellent, i've used them in the past when i've been stuck. If you give them a bell they will advise you, they do list the 5800 for remote unlock, but not the XM, strangly.
It is also worth contacting Orange and asking for the code, blag them and say you are going abroad on business and you need to be able to use a local sim, they may/will charge you but it may be cheaper than the other options available. Hth

Mrs had a 6300 before upgrading on vodafone. Gave it tom mate yesterday. All that was required was a NUC code. Called vodafone and they sent me' an email with said code. Why not try it the legal way first, did me' well.

Price is the only issue, it depends on how long and how much you've spent with them, if it's a ex-contract/contract phone then it's more likely you'll get it for free, also Orange are well known for charging a higher price for their codes than other networks. It's all legal, regardless of the methord used. It's your right to have your phone unlocked
