Default Printing a CD label

My computer doesn't, but my wife can borrow a CD label maker from work.
Question: what happens if the CD is ALREADY labelled with stuff like "Philips CD-R 700Mb" etc?

Does it write over it?

What about "Litescribe" etc? Does it overprint whatever is already there?
