Is anyone else finding Gmail slower and slower these days? From initial login where it shows loading and takes 5-10 secs to show my inbox to navigating between folders/labels which is often even slower.
I see quite some posts online about issues but most are for "power users". I keep on top of my email and am using 1% of allocated space and have 14 labels (on top of the default stuff like Buzz).
Anyone else experiencing the same? Same performance on home PC IE8 as at work with IE6 so I know its not a machine or connection issue.

when you say you are keeping on top of your email, your not deleting it are you
the idea of gmail is never to delete you dont need to:
I use 11 gmail accounts my main one:
You are currently using 1481MB (19%) of your 7499MB.
and the inbox loads with in 1 second, i have the maximum number of emails to display (100 or 200?) multiple labels a theme and a few other bits and bobs. IE is a sloooowwwww browser it will be much better in firefox or chrome.
Turn on inbox preview in settings/labs it will give you something to look at while its loading.
Also i don't think gmail officially supports IE6 (most sites don't anymore), time to upgrade to the fox!

I sure am. Lets face it the filing structure of Gmail is not the best. And I like to keep on top of it all.
As stated above its the same on IE8 or IE6 so I think its more related to my account than browser. I will try a diff browser to rule it out but Im not convinced. Although it does seem to load ok on my iphone.

the way gmail works is excellent but you have to work with it not against it, I would guesstimate that across my 10 accounts i receive somewhere in the region of 250 to 500 real emails every day (not including junk etc) but with the use of labels and filtering these are easily managed.
You really don't need to be deleting emails! invest in some setup time and it will pay dividends!

forgot to add have you tried the basic html version? also make sure IE8 is not running in compat mode and lastly make sure its up todate
You will probably have problems with IE6 because its not supported anymore by gmail.
