What software to backup PC?
I just do a manual copy of the directories i want to an external HDD every couple of weeks or so. I'd like to automate this, what software is best for this task?
EDIT: Yeah, sorry, it's windows XP. I keep forgetting that things have moved on in the last 5 years and XP is no the be-all and end-all.

I bought a Readynas Duo a few months ago and it came with NTI shadow back up software. Its easy to use, select the file/folder and how when you want to back up. I have files that back up every time they are closed down and you can stipulate whether it overwrites or saves a new copy and then how many copies.

Depending on what version of Windows this is it may have backup software built in.

Acronis is great but may be overkill for what you need
Synctoy as above may do for what you need

I also have XP and manual (ish) backups. But I use EZBackitup (Google it). This allows me to 'define' what gets backed up and the next time around it only copies what has been added. So it's just a case of choosing the 'job' to do then hit the 'go' button.
Don't think it's been updated for ages but works fine on my machines. One of the reasons I haven't gone for fully automatic is that the machines aren't on all of the time and I couldn't give a time, without trying to remember every week or so, when they would 'definitely' be on.

How much data?
I pay Mozy 4.95 USD a month for online backup - currently have about 130GB uploaded to it. Backups anything new in the folders I selected overnight.

It's about 140GB. I don't fancy paying monthly and having all my documents etc going elsewhere online. I scan all my paperwork and it's all my digital photos/videos.
Thanks for all the suggestions, i've got a few to try out this week.
