What do we reckon the lowest memory version will be? Still 16GB?

I've been thinking about Thunderbolt. How about if it's enabled via the Dock Connector with a new lead that connects to the Thunderbolt port on the new Mac's, super fast back up and sync. Could happen.

But... if you've been holding out (as a late Christmas present to yourself) to potentially buy one... then what do you do:
- iPad2 - spec now known
- Moto Xoom - tech specs look excellent... initial reviews have been disappointing
- RIM Playbook - smaller but tech specs also good, and apparently v. fast
- something else
I did think I'd go with a Xoom... but iPad2 looking good and the apps will still probably mean that it ends up the winner this year (although still disappointed that they don't have a 1280x720 (768) display for native 720p video).
Hmmmmm..... decisions decisions.

I'm not an Apple fan (I sold my iPhone and bought an Android because it is currently better), never really got on with the Mac (even though I used to contract to Apple to write the OS years ago) but you have to admire their marketing:
They took a relatively non-existent market and made it theirs. 15 million of the things sold in 9 months, absolutely astounding and everyone else playing catch-up.

I wonder how may of those who bought them still use them regularly 3 months later. I know one person who uses one and that's it!

Me? Well .... I use mine occasionally. I travel a reasonable amount, so it is very good on a 'plane and sitting at airports for entertainment. Nothing you couldn't do with a laptop, but easier and the battery life is pretty impressive.

What amazes me are people that think Apple products are all about marketing, if you mean they recognises a gap in the market then fill it with an exceptional product then fair enough, but if you truly believe that Apple success is due to an advertising campaign then you're way off the mark.
And thinking that a Netbook is equivalent to an iPad in usability is just plain daft.

Yes I grant you the proper keyboard, full OS and the mini notebook's ability to have the screen raised without your knees propping it up does make it a far better machine ergonomically, but leaving that aside what can an iPad do in the real workd that a Notebook can't. Forget Angry Birds and stupid free apps, I am talking about real usage. Explain please?

The laptop/netbook vs iPad vs Android arguments will go on well into the next millenium I think !! The simple fact with the iPad is compared to McDonalds. You dont have to make the most amazing burger in the world and sell thousands, you just have to make an OK burger that people think they want/need and sell billions....

Really Jack you are working for Apple or you have shares in Apple, because your fanboyism is little bit OTT...
I have Mac OSX installed on PC,but this is just for making apps, music etc.,its good but if you are working with professional 3D software MAC is useless....

How can anything I've said on this thread be considered Fanboyism? Apple did start a revolution with the release of the iPod, iPhone and now iPad, that's simple to see, nothing to do with being a fan at all, just simple facts. If the iPad was insignificant then why is CEBIT full of major players hyping iPad clones that aren't even available yet.
Hands up if you work with professional 3D software, just you then Jura. For everything else I can use a Mac and even if I did have a need for some 3D software I could install Windows, fully supported by Apple, unlike the Hack you've had to perform to run OSX.
