Help required please:

I have a domain name angeldeelite.com hosted with businessserve.co.uk

I signed up with hostonce.com because they offered a better hosting package for less money.

Now to transfer my domain to hostonce.com businessserve.co.uk are trying to charge me £45.83.

I thought I owned my own domain, are they allowed to charge this?

Any ideas?

Cheers

Rik

Short answer is yes they can charge you a administration fee for moving the domain. This is common at the 'lower price' end of the market.

Mark Ginter is listed as an admin on your domain. domains@vnetuk.com is listed as his contact details. You can ask him to make the change for you at www.inww.com as this is the registrar who holds your domain.

Charging a release fee is well shady, unfortunately it seems that when customers move to us for hosting, it is becoming the norm.

Lee.

Thanx very much for the advice. Mark Ginter is the guy i'm doing the website for, he originally bought the domain.

Thanx again, i'll contact www.inww.com see what they can do.
