Anyone else using this cracking service?

Here are a few good usage cases http://web.appstorm.net/roundups/dat...ps-and-tricks/

Use this link to try it out and we both get an extra 250mb free storage.

Been using it for a year, used it as a group file sharer for keeping people updated on a particular project.

That's kind of how I'm using it Ray, as much as I'd like everyone to use Mac's and Mobile Me, haters will be haters

Thanks for this

Use drop boxes at work for lots of stuff (primarily as a receptacle for students' e-submissions)..... but this is a local arrangement.
Don't really want a mobile me account, so this might solve a LOT of issues.....

Will have a looky tomorrow - after the cider and footy has worn off!!!

I too use it at home and at work. Very handy for sharing files with others, especially in other locations, or who don't have VPN access to the network. It is also very useful for testing the side-loading of documents on iDevices, pop a PDF or ePub onto DB and then open it and and use the "Open with..." option to select the app you want to open it in.

It seems to integrate nicely with other apps too, for example, pop your 1Password database on there and you can access it from anywhere via the app, or a browser page.

I use Dropbox, I sync all my laptop work documents and then they are available on my iPad should I need them.

Quite impressive considering it is free.

^^^^^ bummer. i am the same in work. getting to the stage where either websites don't work because we are still using an unsupported browser (IE6) or the website is now blocked. they recently removed webmail from the places we can visit. i can't even check my mail now in work. thankfully our web blocking software doesn't see SN as a forum for some reason. just waiting for them to widen the block parameters to include bbs in the list.

done - thanks Jack

btw is there a mechanism for sharing a folder - i.e.just providing a url/link to someone so they can download files without having to have a dropbox account

Go to the website and get a link for a shared folder. It's public but you need the link or a bloody good guess.
