Default Microsoft call

Just had microsoft call me saying i have a virus on my pc, and they will fix it, told them i'm busy call back in hour, googled it and found this.

Microsoft does not make unsolicited phone calls to help you fix your computer
In this scam cybercriminals call you and claim to be from Microsoft Tech Support. They offer to help solve your computer problems. Once the crooks have gained your trust, they attempt to steal from you and damage your computer with malicious software including viruses and spyware.

Although law enforcement can trace phone numbers, perpetrators often use pay phones, disposable cellular phones, or stolen cellular phone numbers. It's better to avoid being conned rather than try to repair the damage afterwards.

Treat all unsolicited phone calls with skepticism. Do not provide any personal information.

If you receive an unsolicited call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft Tech Support, hang up. We do not make these kinds of calls.

I had an identical call last week buddy. I had already heard of the scam so was less polite than you were. The Asian gentlemen ended the call by hanging up, don't think he'll be calling back, lol.
Thieving *******...

Would be funny to answer with,
," thank you so much for calling, I really need your help. Just hold the line while I boot my computer up",
Then just leave the prat on the line. Be interesting to see how long these thieving *******s would hang on for, lol.

Yup - slam the phone down.... hard!

wakners - they prey on the old and the unwary....

I even had one of my Directors of our company phone me up saying he had got some chap from Microsoft on the other line.... yadda yadda yadda.... so if they can 'almost' fool someone like that then its scary stuff..... they are just after creaming your credit card details.....
