I have a nividia 9800gt graphics card, the other day I checked the running temp and saw it was 130c. Sure it was an error I switched off the machine to check the graphics card only for my fingers to sizzle when I touched the card
.
Since then I have cleaned the fluff out of the fans and case, but the card id still tuning at 60-70c when surfing the web and touching 100c when playing games.
Is this the normal running temp for a graphics card? seems a bit high to me.

Unfortunaly thats how hot they run.
When i got my 8800GT a few years back it was at about 110c in games and 70c idle
I quickly put one of my old Zalman GPU coolers (vf700cu) on it which got it down to about 65c in game and 45c idle even though the cooler was designed for the previous generation GPU's!
It wont harm it as they are designed to operate at that temperature but for long life its probably a good idea to get a decent aftermarket cooler and use some high quality thermal paste.

nVidia cards seems run lot hotter than ATi.
Which card you have 8800GT or GTX series?
Do you also have EVGA Eleet, MSI Afterburner, Speedfan, NVIDIA System Tools, Everest, or AIDA64 installed? If you have one of these programs installed, they could conflict with EVGA Precision and cause the issues you are having.
