I disagree, but then I use Outlook and have done for years. The only thing wrong with PC based email is the only thing wrong with keeping any data at home. You need backups! Bleddy glad I had a backup recently when a hard drive went t!ts up. And I discovered Microsoft's Synctoy, which I now use for backups.
Web based is fine if you're never at home, and my email can be got at via the web, but if you are at home and your interweb connection is down?
Down to what you want/need at the end of the day. I also just have a pop account for example. You'll now get comments on here about how '80s' they are etc etc ....

um, you might wanna rethink that,,,,,,,,,,
you can't get any sort of mail if your internet is down lol
i use outlook and web based for work. Its much easier to use webmail cos you just simply go to a known address and bung in your username and password. its the same mail's and system but a differnt front end. Using it is no different.
For home use then a web based system which auto backs up mail is much user friendly to operate, no worrying about linking to mails servers etc etc
