Default Where to buy a sub £50 laptop charger from?

Need one today as I've dropped mine in water. Comet, PC world etc. are all £50+ for one which seems a bit steep.

Have you got a Maplins store near you, they do some universal types for about £35.

laptop-power.co.uk will have a replacement charger for your laptop. They have a really good reputation and only supply branded chargers. It won't be branded the same as your laptop but it will be a high quality alternative.

DON'T buy a universal laptop adaptor. They often don't have long enough cables compared to the original and nearly always have some kind of switch on the AC block. This means you have to switch the charging block to the same voltage as your original charger. If you accidentally knock the switch you could overload the laptop and kill the motherboard. Easily done, seem it happen many times.

laptop-power.co.uk - about £31 per charger.
