jdbgmgr.exe virus reports
#1
I have recieved a mail reporting that the jdbgmgr.exe virus is upon us. If anyone else gets a similar mail its a HOAX.
You can check this by looking at the following links:

[url]http://www.antivirus.com/vinfo/hoaxes/hoax5.asp?HName=JDBGMGR%2EEXE+Hoax]http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=99436[/url
http://www.antivirus.com/vinfo/hoaxe...MGR%2EEXE+Hoax
http://securityresponse.symantec.com...file.hoax.html
Dont delete the jdbgmgr.exe file. The jdbgmgr.exe file is a standard windows component that is found in every windows installation, it is used as Java debugger manager in Microsoft Java runtime engine.
If you have deleted JDBGMGR.EXE from your system, it can be restored by installing updated version of Microsft Virtual Machine or Internet Explorer.
At the end of the day if you are not sure report it to your systems administrator (or post it here !!) before forwarding warnings to everyone in your address book !!

Got a call from a client about this the other day, worried me at first, cos I'd just put norton antivirus on their systems. Glad to have found it was a hoax, did not really want to explain how a virus got through norton!
