Which tablet?
I fancy buying a tablet but I have no idea what to look for. My budget is around £400, what are people`s recommendations? No, I don`t want an ipad Thanks.

I got an Ipad. My main reason is to run kindle on it. It is much easier to read and highlight stuff than on an actual kindle, plus the screen is excellent. I can sync documents with my Mac and so the kindle equipped Ipad becomes a very powerful tool for reading/studying.

Ive got the ipad 2 its perfect for games, web browsing, e books, everything really.
In the past ive had a few tablets, asus iconia, other cheap ones, my wife has the samsung tablet, which is ok, but none compare to the ipad.
And with it being £329 in tesco for the 16gb plus you get clubcard points, every little helps

Ease of use will be an ipad but you will get annoyed with it due to its restrictive characteristics so android will really be the one to go with or if you wait till October, the windows 8 tablets will be the top sellers.

To them it is incomprehensible and inconceivable that their is any other option. I'd go for the Google Nexus 7 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 which has amoled screen and micro SD slot for extra storage. Their so good that Apple want to copy them with a possible release of an iPad Mini.

Even if you had said, my budget is £200 the sheeple will still have said to go 2nd hand for the ipad
I have 2 x HP Touchpads, one with WebOS and one with ICS, and I have a Motorola Xoom now too , Xoom was a swap for a Galaxy S phone and the touchpads 100 quid each
Xoom is around 200 quid in the shops now, even the Xoom2 was down in price last week

But this is one of the things that this forum is bad at. The guy asked a question and specifically said which answer he didn't want yet the usual crowd still tell him to get what he has specifically said he does not want!!!!
It's the same as a month or so ago I posted asking if anyone had repared classic rear arches with the front arches and got some poster telling me how to do it with bits of scrap steel. When I pointed out that didn't answer my question a bunch of other muppets told me I was being unreasonable. WTF?
If someone asks a question on here why not just answer it propery instead of answering it wrongly?

I was merely pointing out that apple shouldn't be dismissed as like it or not at this present time they are the best tablet.
Cutting his nose off to spite his face comes to mind

I have a Nexus 7 - amazingly quick and I love it.
It blows any other (including fruit) tablets out of the water on price v performance and still pretty much wins when you don't factor the price in.
Will depend on what you want it for as to whether you're ok with a 7" screen though.
/edit oh and has GPS...I need to find a mount for the car now!
