Question iPad " no signal " problem.

Good morning all,

My wife has recently bought an iPad from our local (ish) apple shop and is gradually coming to terms with it and what it can do.
Today she has a problem and would appreciate some advice as she is somewhat lost. At the top left corner it says "No Signal" and the antenna next to it shows three bars. She says there should be a little circling arrow ( like on her imac) to show when it is making the connection but there is nothing. She has tried switching off/on but no change. Imac works fine and so does this macbook so....... what does she need to try ?
Suggestions much appreciated.
Many thanks.

Brian.

'No signal' would indicate trying to use mobile data, Wifi just disappears if no signal. The circling thing is shown when syncing, if there's no Wifi connection then that won't show.

I'd go into Settings and make sure Wifi is turned on and connected. And turn off Mobile Data if it's not needed.

Thanks.

In settings the wifi is ON but the Homehub network shows a closed lock, does this somehow have to be unlocked ?

The other network is Powerline, not locked but the ipad won't connect to either, the circle thingy (connectivity ) just keeps circling.
Mobile data is off, it was on.

Next ????

Cheers

Thanks again.

That seems to have done the trick. The password box didn't come up earlier.
Wife is out and asked me to see if I could sort it.

Next job will be to see if see can use it when away from home, has been fine, up till today !!

Cheers

If you're ever having problems loading data the first thing to do is switch on and off Airplane mode. Should be rare but it's a lot quicker than shutting down.
