Default Phone data usage

I have a work phone which is a Samsung Galaxy S3, just got a moaning at for my data usage as it was 639 mb and my phone was on the wrong data bundle, so it cost £100 extra, they are cracking down as its getting daft.

I had a look and the phone logs it all and says 204 MB which would be nothing like £100, but for the same billing period Orange say it is three times that ?

Anyone been down this route, which is correct ?

Query it with them - I would trust the phone over Orange personally!

Unless the time quoted by Orange and by the phone are two different time periods?

639mb, if you don't have a minimum of 500mb allowance then it sounds like there is no data plan on said tariff - in which case there is an option on the phone to turn 3g data off.

Data capping is going to get ridiculous when 4G becomes mainstream, people are going to eat gigabytes of data streaming video etc. Unless there is sensible data allowance and pricing it will take an age for 4G to overtake 3G customer base

I'm pleased I'm not on your contract as I'm only one week into my monthly bill and have already used 420mb and I don't use wifi

My dads iphone was on the wrong price plan with Orange and they had him down as no data allowance. For 2 months he had a £900 and a £800 bill until they finally got it sorted and asked him did he want money back or just a credit note
