Default Broadband & Phone line options

Hey all.

I'm at that point where I'm reviewing my option as I don't get the best deals/connection due to my rural area, however each year it's getting better.

My old phone lines and unlimited broadband speed of anything from 1mb to 15mb is £15pm with Sky, and similar with BT line rental £15pm.

What are my options please, as searching on the web there appears to be deals from £2.50pm broadband and £9pm line rental yet I don't feel I can trust the suppliers (EE, plus net, and Talk talk).

Opinion please?

Ta

Stay clear of plusnet if you do any decent amount of downloading, they throttle connections agressively. Out of the ones you have listed EE would be best. I would try a well established ISP instead though, they might be able to give u a better deal and service from your exchange. Sky/Newnet/Zen come to mind, wont be the cheapest though.

I will say one thing, DO NOT go with talk talk. They are a bunch of incompetent *****...simples. No fibre optic I assume? I`ve just gone with BT Infinity and currently get 75mb download compared to 1.5 - 2mb I used to get with Virgin on the `old line`

I just checked BT against your post code and...no Infinity but...

You can choose
BT Broadband now offering:
17Mb * Estimate download speed
10Mb-19.5Mb Download speed range

I've just gone to BT essentially because of their recent promotional stuff 6 months free or something, paid line rental up front so overall I'm paying about 2/3 what I was paying virgin and getting 15mbps over less than 1 lol

I could not get infinity either, don't care so far. They hashed up delivery router (sent it to previous address of 3 years ago) rang them up and i now have 2 spare routers since had one allready.

Recently moved from sh1tty Sky broadband to BT Infinity, BT site indicated a speed of 17mb but I'm actually getting 28mb. Massive improvement from 1-2mb.

It's like night and day isn't it Option 2 is 75mb so I was expecting maybe half that as my sis is on option 1 and gets about half quoted speed, but I'm getting the full speed. Sometimes drops to around 45.....which I can live with
