Default Portable DVD power lead

I have a Sony portable DVD and need a new power adapter (cable has split and showing the wires).

The original one has an output of 9.5v but all the replacements I can find (non-Sony, can't find the original for sale) give an output of 9v.

Will the loss of .5v make any difference?

cheers.

No the voltage must be correct or will ruin the device
What you can do if your stuck tho
If you have the mains lead with plug attached ( for home use)
You can buy a inverter from maplins for around £10
Plug into inverter & inverter cigarette end into car , boat , truck etc etc
Problem solved . Make sure you get a 12v inverter tho not a 24v

Can you get a universal transformer, similar to what a laptop uses, with a switchable output?

I'd thought about that, but the kids use the DVD and I didn't want to risk it for £20!
