Default Decommissioning an Exchange 2010 server - help

Hi All,

I'm in the process of migrating from one exchange 2010 server to another. I'll then be decommissioning the old 2010 server.

I just want to make sure I've done everything as it's not particularly well documented.

I've:
- Migrated all user mailboxes
- Migrated Public folder (stopped & removed the old one)
- Migrated Offline address book
- Migrated the Arbitration mailbox
- Migrated the "search" mailbox (can't remember the proper name off the top of my head)
- Stopped & removed the Mailbox database.
- Changed the Receive & send connectors to reflect the new server.

Is it now just a case of un-installing (as per the technet documents?).

Seems quite a simple process if that's the case, but I'm loathed to push the button

If I simply power off the old server, everything works, but sending & receiving emails seem to take a while (especially internally) - I guess when the un-install is complete, all the failing lookups will cease & things will speed up.

J

I can't see how it can make any difference.
