Iraqi Information Minister

Have just watched his speech on TV in disbelief. He talks total cr*p.
Has just said that the Airport has been retaken and surrounded by Iraqi forces. And Allied armour has been confronted by Iraqi armour outside Basra and defeated them.
He deserves a place on the muppets forum.

I have never heard anyone talk so much bullsh!t on telly as this tw@t! How he thinks he has any creditable understanding from the Arab world is beyond me.
I swear the bloke must be on drugs cos he seems to seriously beieve the stuff he is saying, especially when he offers to take journalists to the airport to show them it is controlled by Iraqi forces! <shakes head in disbelief> I think his information suppliers are having a laugh with him

what do you expect the guy to say? His country/regime is being attacked and he is doing his job of sending out propoganda that will be listened to by Arabs/Muslims who watch arabian TV stations.
It's normal war propoganda, something the USA and UK watchers of TV are getting from the coalition information staff. Do you really think you are getting the truth, and nothing but the truth from the USA/UK guys?
I would be amazed if he said anything other than what he is.

...at least he's admitted that the Coalition ARE in Iraq.
That's a step in the right direction and all part of a very coy but cynical plot to soften up the Iraqi people to the prospect of an honourable draw in about 6 month's time once the yanks get anywhere near Baghdad, which of course they are miles from.
I've also heard that Mr Ecclestone is negotiating the rights to a racing circuit in Kirkut for 2006?

He may be a total loony, but you're forgetting that the people in Iraq don't have the freedom of info that we do in the west. Satellite TV is pretty much unavailable in Iraq (and has been since the war started). The only TV is state TV, and the news is of Iraqi victories (such as the apache shot down by a farmer, etc) and other propaganda about Saddam and how great he is.
I can't blame them really. WTF else can they say!?? They're hardly going to go on TV and say "Hey, we've given up 'cos we don't have a chance of winning"?!

Marko is right of course, the propaganda is for the Iraqis in an effort to keep them fighting.
I think he is a bit of a star really. I just would like to see how he copes if a bunch of coalition troops walked quietly up behind him in the middle of a broadcast.

Oh I agree, its just difficult to listen to when we see on telly whats really happening. No denying when you see tanks rolling into Baghdad.
If he had troops in the background he would probably deny they were there lol, I hope he does get captured alive during a broadcast because it would make interesting viewing seeing his reaction.

The InfoMan should get a customer service job when he's finished his current one...
"Why you say vacuum cleaner not work? It is in power saving mode and will work very-fantastic if you press button. Look I show you -dirty carpet, clean carpet. That not dirt left - is much better than when carpet was new. See - I eat dinner from carpet. No hairs in mouth - it moustache. "

I reckon he's gonna become a star/celebrity after the war...Would really like to see a Larry King interview with him...Hell, would like to see him interview Larry for that matter. Or on Oprah...I really hope they don't kill him - I can see his own TV show on the horizon...Or an inspirational book...He'll be having a royal life after the war.
He's brave.
