As the son of a Northern Irish catholic let me just say something.
Firstly my father was Irish not British in his eye's. Whilst he was no Fennian and deplored the acts of all Irishmen in the name of patriotism either catholic or protestant, he still was Irish. That difference is the hub of the issue in Ulster, not religion, that is a by product of circumstance. The people who fight " the cause " in PIRA or any other splitter group do it as Irishmen even if they are from Birmingham in England or Boston in the USA. And any Northern Irish Loyalist will tell you he's British.
Secondly this terrorist who decided to fight for the cause of Palestine has decided his faith and a land he has never been to is more important than his country. He was born in England I think of Pakistani Kashmiri parents. He attended public schools in England and London University. He was " alledgedly " recruited in the Mosques by " holy " men. To my mind he has decided to given up his right to be a British citizen.

the cancer of extreme islamic fundamentalism is here to stay.
unless both the government and the moderate muslim community face up to some unpalateable facts and some unpalatebale people - and co-operate to cut it out before it takes irreversible hold.
this is not a race issue, whatever the loony gobsh1tes may say. this is a security issue: action this day, please!

Haha what about Catholic terrorism? In case you havent noticed, our problem is the IRA. Al Qaeda is the US's problem. Our schools and nurseries were bombed by the IRA not Al qaerda.

thank you paul.
katana:
god do you have to be a sarcy tw@t *all* your life? i agree that both flavours of paddy-terror are equally as execrable but can you keep on-thread please.
islamic terror is a new, more unpredictable and dangerous long-term threat than either cath or proddy paramilitaries (the irish problem is at the ***-end of its cycle, fingers crossed). not least because there are those who will continually play the race card in order to undermine how responsible people attempt to deal with it.
in order to get something done, this issue must be wrested away from the knee-jerk professional racism lobby and dealt with in an adult manner that protects every part of society.

thing is people assume that it's just gonna be the Muslims who will get extreme but...........two can play at this game....you only have to see the rise of the BNP over here for that to be plainly obvious.....I don't want to see this country taken over by fecking ***** but more and more moderate non-mulsims could get sucked in by BNP propaganda.....

bang on cleaner - it's a two-headed coin. the only way to keep the BNP creeps in their odious, bigoted boxes is by concerted, effective, consultative government action.
the fringe only gains momentum if people feel - or are - let down by their elected representatives. as it stands, this government has a very poor record of delivery in controlling asylum and latterly, extremist infiltration. it's taken years to do something about abu hamza: and i doubt it will be followed through. words, not deeds.
until they grab asylum and anti-terror security by the scruff of the neck and sort it out, organisations like the BNP will gain exposure, support and worst of all, votes.
simply put, their continued inaction *increases* the vulnerability of all reasonable, law-abiding people, whoever they are.

Pre-emptively striking Shin Fein would be a step in the right direction..

They should strip the IRA members off their british citizen too. I mean a brown skin guy flies a plane into a building once and the whole race gets called terrorists and entire countries gets invaded. A white man repeatedly bombs nurseries, churches and schools and they end up getting fundings from the US and even gets a movie made about them. Just the way how things seems to be these days. One rule for some another rule for others.
The US used to stand for justice and equality and dare I say it, I used to be proud of them when I was younger. They have lost their way..

right first of all the IRA are from IRELAND there not brits.only the prods are also after sep 11 bush named terrorist groups wich will be targeted and the IRA was one of them at the end of the day the wa*kers that did this lost there right to be britishand we now wash our hands of them . the true muslims of our country think this is a disgrace and i think any true muslim would.
