Unhappy

Just goes to show we are a lot closer to death than we think - and for the most part we take our day to day lives for granted.

That such a fit and seemingly healthy young individual can cease to exist at a moments notice is a dreadful shame and more shockingly, a real eye opener.

I doubt there are many, if any, words to console those whose lives he touched. But, for what its worth, my thoughts go out to them at this sad time.

I dont realy like football

But what made me sad for him and his family was the pictures in the paper and TV. They showed a man very close to death ..eyes back etc...

Just how much info do they need to sell a paper???

marc was a brilliant young talent, and probably a brilliant family man..he will no doubt be sadly missed by everyone who came into contact with him, whether by the sport he so obviously loved and enjoyed or his friends and family outside the game

everyone, specially those with a not so good lifestyle should watch those tragic film clips of the game when he collapsed on the pitch and think seriously.... 'that could so easily be me'

thoughts and sympathies with his family at this time

Luke,

Agreed! I saw the Sun on a collegues desk, it was disgraceful - why not show a picture of the man doing what he loved and was obviously very good at in memory of him, but no, not the Sun!!! I am tempted to write them a strong letter!

Here we go again.

We all see plenty of dead people in the paper....why is this one different?

Ayton Senna - slumped in **** pit
Roland Rartenburgers chest being pumped
Tommy cooper

...the list goes on. Hillsborough.........

RIP anyway

davboy,

Its not the fact that its M.V.F's picture in particular - just the fact that the press (and you may say its their job) don't have much consideration/respect for anyone enough to report things without being too graphic.

I don't tend to read news papers often (or watch the news) and perhaps that's why this annoys me more. Obviously I do watch football and most sports, hence I am usually aware of such tradegies at sporting events.

Respect is due to anyone who dies under tragic circumstances and from any walk of life - this is just one of the many that I identified with.

Kevin is right. Those responsible for that kind of tabloid journalism should be ashamed of themselves. Its all done in the name of greed.
