I'm looking for feedback, good, bad or indifferent on Litchfield Imports. I'd be particularly interested in feedback on their self finance scheme - has anyone else used this option and what safeguards did you use?

if its financial advice you need then you need an independent financial adviser...

open any account with the co-op bank and you can use their (impartial)IFA service for free.

Most people here have good experiences of iain litchfield btw - (including myself)

Thanks for the feedback.

Just to clarify, I'm not after financial advice. The self finance scheme is where you pay for the car when it is shipped rather than on delivery - you scratch my back and I scratch yours etc. My reason for asking about this is knowing what guarantees I have once I've parted with a serious amount of money that the car will be delivered.

I am getting good feedback on the reputation on Iain, but would still be interested to hear from anyone who has used this purchasing option re how they protected themselves if the worst had happened.
