Hi Folks,

I've finally succumbed to the temptation of buying a Uk spec scoobie ( hopefully an RB5 else a 99/00 turbo ) and wanted to find out more about the credability of some of the dealers local to me :

SGT - Maidenhead
Bell & Colville - West Horsley
Lancasters Reading/Sevenoaks
Cheam

Can anyone provide feedback on dealing with these guys , such as value for money, quality of cars in stock, post sales experience
etc..

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ta very much
Rich

Rich,

Had my MY99 for 6 months now and take it to Mill Lane Engineering near Basingstoke. May be a bit further for you to go but I've got no complaints about the service's i've recieved. Also read threads from owners who took their Scoobs there and have been impressed. Check them out but they get my vote

Just to say I live in woking and I travel down to Mill Lane for my servicing too.

bought mine from Lancaster Pangbourne (reading way) but happier getting my service at Mill Lane.

Cheam is supposed to be good but its a hassle to get it there.

Richard,

Although Nito @ B&C is a great guy to buy a car off, you will find that the servicing costs are less if you visit Cheam. Also, another vote for Mill Lane, who have the best laser alignment gear in the area.

Hope that helps, Alex

In case you were looking at the RB5 at SGT, sorry - just beat you to it. But they now have a very nice red MY99 which I can recommend!
As for their service - I have found it very good in all respects. Bought the MY99 from there 3 years ago, always serviced there with no complaints from me and had no qualms about buying another car from them. As I never had any faults with the car I cant really comment on customer service.

I went to Lancaster Sevenoaks and bought a speced out 3 year old '98 Turbo. They gave me an extra years warrenty. Picked it up after work, and the guy unlocked it for me. I checked it all apart from the remote locking. Drove it home and tried to lock it using the remote and it didn't work. Phoned them and they had gone home, so arrived first thing the next morning, and they couldn't care less. 'Not an official Subaru alarm' was what they told me (after I had asked all the standard questions when I was buying it). They obviously forgot to mention this!

Will be buying from elsewhere when I get my MY03!

Ah sod it... I knew SGT had one but Im just about 2 weeks away from doing this. There is another around locally ( somewhere that slips my mind accidently on purpose ) .

Thanks for the feedback though, that gives me some piece of mind with them.

Enjoy your new toy!

Cheam, for servicing and parts, excellent service from all staff so far, Cheaper than B&C. Jim Childs (part manager) very helpful and knows his stuff.
