Hi guy's,

I am in need of a new clutch for my93 WRX and was wondering where the best place to buy would be...

I'm really after an AP Organic gobbie or similar, i know TSL sell them for about £400, does anyone know anywhere cheaper...

Also is there anything else that would be good to get for the installation except an STI release bearing...

Cheers,

John.

My AP paddle clutch started slipping the day I was due to leave to do an MLR trackday at Rockingham Sept 2002. Gutted.

My only option, with the time constraint, was to get a cheap UK clutch kit from Partco. £110 for the complete kit. Didn't expect it to last long, as the UK car is 208-215 bhp as standard. My STi Type RA was running 300+.

Did the trackday no probs. I the forgot all about it, but subsequently did 15+ hard trackdays before I sold the car. It only ever slipped once, during a bit of a stupid kamikaze overtaking, when I sidestepped it to get it on boost.

It never slipped during normal driving. Having said that, I'm not a drag racing merchant, and let it build up slowly if I ever do the traffic light grand prix stuff.

You pays your money and takes your pick I suppose, but I'd do the same again.

£650 from a dealer is about right fitted.......

Mine is slipping right now and I'm going through the ringy round bit...

So Far

Dealer £650.00 (Walldonway maidstone, Kent)
Scoobysport £720.00
Extremescoobies £720.00
TSL £820.00 (AP Organic fitted skimmed flyywheel new oil etc etc)

I reckon TSL will get it.... The AP unit offers good scopr for the future extra BHP and also no fridgeing Judder.....

Thumbs up

I had mine (UK MY98) done at TSL approx 6 months ago

It cost me £920 fitted in the end (was originally quoted £800 ish but i had to have a new oil seal & somne welding to the Up-pipe which done whilst the gearbox was out)

Anyway, i had an AP organic clutch, lightened & balanced flywheel and STi release bearings fitted, it took from 9am - 4pm ish to do.

The difference was superb, the clutch is so light compared to the OEM one and after driving cataluyna199's scoob the other day it reminded me just how light it was.

was looking at other options at the time, ie lateral performance, borg & beck, OEM at a dealer but it worked out easier and possibly cheaper to go to TSl

Good customer service too and i got 5% SIDC discount

HTH

Been to Powerstation. They wont do AP one, just the Helix one which they said is better anyway.

Just over £700 fitted, but suggest lightened flywheel at another ~£300!
