Default Jewson B*stards - anyone know a superb body shop in London?

On Friday, some *** driving a Jewson truck thought it would be a good idea to drive into the front wing of my Evo whilst it was parked in a public car park space. He managed to put a fist-sized dent in the offside front wing and scratch the bumper a tiny bit. Luckily, I was warned and managed to catch, swear at him and get his details before he drove off.

I've got in touch with my insurer (Tesco) and they suggest either TFL Bodyshop in East Putney or Pheonix Vauxhall in Wimbledon. I am keen to get the car back to its original mint condition, so before going with one of them does anyone know a specialist place who can do a really good job?

thanks,
Matt

Its your roght to have you vehicle repaired at a garage of your choice; Tesco may suggested their own or an approved repairer but they cant insist on it.

Id suggest finding a good large Mistubishi dealer with a strong reputation who doesnt sub out any bodyshop work and use them.

Question

Jewsons being a large company, they MAY pay up if you suggest NOT going through your insurers. It helps their insurance too. No claims, you see?

I drive HGV part time, and the companies I drive for ALL prefer to settle up without bothering insurers unless it's a large claim or disputed.

I'd be inclined to give 'em a ring and suggest it.

Thanks for the comments guys. Alcazar, I can see where you are coming from but if I was to do that, it gives them no incentive to sort their drivers out. I sincerely hope the guy got a bollocking for what he did.

If it was me, I'd take the car to a Mitsi dealer and get them to quote for the repair. Then just get Jewson's to agree the costs (all in writing, of course).

Sorry to hear that...

Go to a Mistubishi Dealer, and do not sign or take your car unless you are 100% happy with the job...

I have had an Adudi Cabrio once that was hit from behind, went to an Audi garage through the insurance, however they tried to thob me off with a ****e rapaire and spray job, so i complained got them to re-do all and also got compensation from the insurance company

PS: My neighbour drives a van, for i forget which company...the amount of people he has hit is rediculas..Insurance and the company that he works for covers it all.

Frank,

Can AnG deal with a minor scratch on a car?

No panel damage, down to primer in places and down to metal in others.

Can it be done in a day?

Cheers
Andy
