living in Worcester i have used most if not all of the garages in the midlands and these guys score top points with me.

if absolute qualiaty was your highest objective when it comes to your Subaru pick RCM ( and after too many bodge jobs on my car, this is my only priority)

If i wanted to save a few extra pennies I would have no problem using API or Scooby clinic but they are a victom of their own success and tend to stack up with cars and I guess this is why they can offer slightly better prices

IMHO a couple of hours over time here and there is well worth the peice of mind RCM give you

have you ever been

rcm normally have 3 may be 4 cars in the garage at once

last time i was in API there must have been nearly 25

David at API is a top guy and has helped me out in the past ( i will certainly be using him in the future ) i would reccommend to anyone but RCM are motorsport quality

you have to experience it to believe it

WRX Rich means they have a queue of people waiting to have work done because of their reputation

Having said that my Bugeye is booked in at RCMS in September

Agree wholeheartedly with WRX Rich.

Probably the most expensive around on parts and labour but you only have to look at the quality and prep on the many cars they have featured in all the mags (for average joe and big money drag cars) and you will see they are undoubtedly the best.

Olly and Simon will happily talk to you about what you want for ages and will not try to sell you anything you dont need if you are not to clued up. Matt is the most thorough spannerman i have ever seen.

If you are after major engine work the waiting list is long! bolt on mods not so long though. Have a very good rep for their mail order service as well.

Rich

I'm more than happy with my Deadbolt monster ported 18G I've got a bigger RCM inlet tract and like you the RCM Headers so the gasses hit the turbo pretty hard LOL

I've just gotta be a *bit* careful as I'm running stock WRX internals / gearbox and on top of that the car belongs to NatWest bank until next year

Cant recommend them enough, take mine there for servicing, have reservations about scoobyclinic(even though theyre not far from me) even though most on here will tell you theyre brilliant but can only go on your own/mates experiences.Had a problem with 5th gear a while bk sadly rcms send their boxes out to be rebuilt(or did at the time) so thinking about the £££££ took my car to paul at Zen who equally is sound.Theres a lot of scooby service/tuners around but in my opinion few good ones.

We are all very lucky to have a lot of very good tuning companies around, and we are spoilt for choice.we all have our favourites, the ones who we trust our scoobies too,but RCM are well worth a visit, the workmanship is top draw WRC stuff, nothing is missed, the attention to detail, the little but important things that make a job a better job,no hard sell, just good advice and then you make your mind up,big engine conversions to make you just stop and stare, but each one carried out with the same care and attention to detail as the next, just look at any Matt Clark engine conversion and you would think it was straight from subaru itself, also look at the distance some of their customers travel,Cornwall,Scotland,Iceland, these people are proud of their scoobies and only one tuning company is good enough for them, check out the build quality of the Gobstopper and the Icelandic car, even subaru or prodrive could not improve on those two cars.
Yes we have a lot of good tuning companies around but, we have one great one RCM. NUFF SAID.

RCMS are excellent, I do not give such praise often.

To get what you want, you may well pay more than you might elsewhere. However, I do not know, or have not heard of, anyone that has been dissatisfied with their work, which is rare for any company.

My engine was bult by Matt in July 2002, used Cosworth pistons at the time, in November 2002 they came out and the first 5cc Omegas went in, 18,000 miles later I had cracked heads, a relatively common occurance so engine came out and heads were replaced, took the opportunity to replace the 5cc pistons with 10cc ones so I could use std thickness head gaskets, also fitted vernier cam pulleys, since that was done engine has done 28,000 miles faultlessly.

I post because I "think" that mine is the longest serving RCM build, its always run at least 1.8 bar boost since its incarnation and it gets "driven" hard when I get the opportunity.

Attention to detail sums it up ... rare comodity these days.

Only other person I trust to work on the car is me.

In reply to being expensive, this is not the case ,Irecently had exe-tc suspension fitted and that was £45 less than another well known tuner, also the geometry set-up was cheaper.

So your engine build was a budget affair then?
