Lightbulb Subaru for you - Reading - Any good?

Hi,

I have booked in my Classic 1995 WRX in for a Cambelt at Subaru for you in Reading.
The reason why is when I first joined this site some1 recommended them to me, to speak to a guy called Len,, I just cant find the thread now

Are they any good?

They have quoted £180 for cambelt change PLUS £129 for tensiorner if needed?

And/OR £535 for a full service and cameblt change?

Whats your opinions please

I am based in Bath, BA1 , Somerset.

Thanks

Jon

I'll second that, Len is a top bloke.

Also he is in Newbury not Reading.

Yep, very important to get that right

+1 for Len and his team.

Have modded and looked after my car for the past 35K.

He might even make you a cup of tea if it's your first time there.

ROBBED! I have never been given a cup of tea in all my years going there! However, I never stay around long enough as I don't like taking up too much of his time lol .

Unquestionable top service from Len and Mark - thoroughly recommended.

Forget the tea, promises of new waiting area with playstations and the like when the new premises are ready

Yep, I am really looking forward to that, it has been a lot of hassle for him sorting all this out as of late on top of the workload. I wish him every success as him and his guys deserve it .

Does he strike you guys as one of these great British slightly eccentric types? Probably made all manner of contraptions in the shed as a lad!

... or maybe it's just me

Would just like to say that S4U was very good and treat your car like their own, they did a cambelt change.

Len is a legend.

Plus he said my classic was looking very good for its age and things look good in general

very happy and a great service, I shall be going back.

Yup, another for Len. He's been servicing my Scoob for the past few years.

The sort of bloke who'll travel to your house when your poxy car won't start, fiddle around in the dark & rain, and then not take anything for it.

Cheers,
Steve

He says I remind him of Jeremy Clarkson lol

To be honest, I'd never take my scooby anywhere else. Even at short notice (when I though disaster had struck my engine) he took delivery of it on the back of a low loader and sorted it all out for me, assuring me all the way that it would cost a lot less (worst case) that other firms had quoted me. In the end it was less than a good pair of shoes.

Absolutely first class service every time, and thats an understatement really.

If I lived up north I'd send the car down to him on a truck....

You will not hear anyone say a bad word about him, the firm or his team. That says a great deal. Not many scoob mechanics out there these days who won't let you drive the car away until he is happy that he would own it/drive it himself.

Must get him to sell me that P1 of his as well
