Thumbs down My bad experience with Scott Lowe

My experience - SCOTT LOWE

It all started on the 7th of Sep 2008 when I placed an order for a front lip for my 55 sti after seeing a few on here and hearing he had good products.
13th of Sep phoned Scott Lowe to see when I could expect a delivery so I could plan to take a day off work if needed but got no answer on both the mobile and land line so I left a message for them to ring me.
15th of Sep sent an email to back up my phone message which I had not had an answer to as of yet.
22nd of Sep phoned both land line and mobile and got no answer.
30th of Sep phoned again and got no answer so another message was left to ring me or email me a delivery date.
14th of Oct got an email from Scott Lowe giving me an tracking number for my front lip that was being sent via fastway couriers.
16th of Oct checked with fastway couriers as to the status of my shipment and they had no record.
17th of Oct phoned Scott Lowe again and guess what, no answer so message left.
20th of Oct another message left on Scott Lowe mobile. About an hour later got a phone call from Scott Lowe saying my lip would be with me next week.
21st of Oct got my shipment.
22nd of Oct and out in the cold trying to fit my front lip. After half an hour had it bolted on but had a 1cm to 2cm gap right the way across the front from winglet to winglet.
Unbolted so I could send it back for a refund.
23th of Oct sent the front lip back using Parcel Force for a refund.
27th of Oct Scott Lowe had received my shipment for a refund, signed for by R Walton.
3rd of Nov email sent to Scott Lowe asking when I would get a refund.
12th of Nov another message left on phone number about refund.
24th of Nov yet another message left and email sent.
29th of Nov phoned yet again, no answer.
1st of Dec phoned again but this time got an answer and Scott said he would refund this week.
8th of Dec another email sent as still no refund in my account, had to warn him that it would go further if not in my account by the Fri 12th Dec.
9th of Dec finally got my money back.

A total of 93 days from when I ordered to when I got my money back.

Only one or two reply's from this company also make it a **** take and all the time costing me time and money chasing it up.

I really didn't think I would get my money back after seeing the group buy on bonnet struts and how people had been messed about.

This is a general warning to any members on here thinking of buying from Scott Lowe, If you want the hassle of chasing your order and then when you do get it its a crap copy, then go ahead.

I know that some people on here have had a good experience with Scott Lowe but I also know a lot of people have had the same hassle I've had.
I would never recommend this company as long as I've got a hole up my ****, Its bad news and I'm sure some people are still waiting for goods or refunds.

Thanks for the review mate. Always good to get this kind of knowledge.

I ordered mine from HT Autos, who were very good. If you are not ready to give up, you may want to give them a try.

That lot is not good

A lot of companies out there are feeling the pinch but that does not stop them communicating properly with the customer

If correct thats a fookin joke mate and really poor form!!

As Mikkel says, its good to know these things for future reference, even if it is a case of one customer out of 100 that gets this treatment, its enought to put me off!

May I recommend Revolution Motorsport, well renound and respected firm with excellent products and service!

They do the front lip spoilers at good prices and fast delivery.

Revolution, pah. Bought a spoiler off them years ago and it was a complete missfit. I would never, ever buy anything from them again. Especially with the hassle of it being returned through a third party 'damaged' and not getting a refund.

Hi

First of all, Apologies if I am hi-jacking this thread.
To the OP, as mentioned if you are still in the market for a splitter give me a call and will try and sort you a good price on the splitter.

Keith
0845 0023000

TO Scoobynutta555 as you say I cannot comment on a case which was 8-10 years ago, I have a good memory for customers but possibly not that good! LOL
I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with ourselves - but we have changed suppliers for spoilers many many times over the years because of problems like you suffered. Nearly all spoilers come from the far-east and I guess we're all victims of wanting cheaper products.
If you need anything in the future give us a try again. We've not been in business successfully for the past 12 years by giving bad service, give me a call and will see if I (we) can change your opinion.

Thanks

Keith

i see this post as nothing other than "constructive" with valid concise points.
Also a fair comment from Keith as dealing with the public and 3rd party suppliers, there will always be issues somewhere along the line.

i'm guessing the real story is about communication

all good to see !!

Indeed replica spoilers have come a long way in a decade! Thanks for the reasoned reply, hard to see some on here with such a gracious response

Still, at the time I was out of pocket with no spoiler at all to show for it. Good luck in the future though, sadly I don't have a Subaru anymore.

Shut it!

I've seen it, providing people stick to the facts and don't go off on a slanging match, there is no reason why good and bad experiences cannot be shared IMHO

It's in everyone's interests, including the traders.

The only proviso is that one should always make sure that they have exhausted efforts to sort things out with a trader before coming on here. Quite often we've had people complain on here, only for a perplexed trader to show up and say they had not received a single complaint from that person.

If you don't talk, they can't help. Talk first, type later!

I had two very positive experiences of Scott Lowe for mudflaps, and am sorry that the OP didn't enjoy a similar customer experience.

Cheers for the posts guys.
Ive now got a genuine subaru lip and off ebay aswell
Its brand new and went straight on without any problems, great buy. Paid £300 but worth every penny and still saved some cash over Subaru's prices.

This is a true account with maybe a few calls missed out from myself to Scott. I started to loose track after the second month and loose my temper aswell.

As an officer of the law, I keep a admin trail and can provide emails to back this up should Scott or anyone else wish to differ.

Just wanted to make other members aware of the hassle ive had and the worry of not getting my money back over the last 3 odd months.

PLEASE DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TOO.

That's why I waited.
In a way I wanted it to go on for longer to really show the true colours of this so called company.
I was keeping a track of all the emails and calls making it look worse every day that passed and adding to the list of fuc# up's.
I gave Scott all the time in the world to sort the problem and after the second email he was still missing the point.
Passed this info onto a few evo friends who did use Scott Lowe for parts.

I know you did mate

It was advice to others, who might otherwise just come on here and go off on one before giving the company in question a chance to resolve things first!

I had a Scott Lowe splitter on my STI and it was very poor quality - the fibreglass was really thin and holes appeared all over it.Got a replacement plastic one from HT Autos and coudnt fault them - quick delivery and a spot on fit.
Have also bought several items including a set of wheels/tyres from Revolution and have always found them to be excellent.

Talking

I have bought two front splitters from Scott Lowe and did not experience any problems and the products were first rate.

If only i didnt keep wiping them out

The first splitter was wiped out by a stone from a David Heaps lorry and then further wiped out when i tried to put the car on my ramps.

The second splitter had a parking accident and then i hit a deer full on , on a remote scottish road, luckily it didnt come into the car.

It has now been repaired twice and painted twice. I now reverse park, stay away from David Heaps lorries and try not to hit any more stags.

Scott Lowe is a joke!

I am still waiting for a refund from some faulty mudflaps from 6 MONTHS AGO!!

Never answers the phone and when i get through, all i get is "I'll do it now".

Ordered a lip spoiler that came broken, took 3 months to get a replacement. Ordered some carbon mudflaps, they came faulty and like i said, still waiting for a refund.

The guy is a muppet and has the worst customer service in the world. DO NOT buy from this vendor.

I have only dealt with them once, and I would never dream of ever calling them again! terrible customer service and the product was terrible, thankfully it wasnt a lot of money but I got a similar response when I asked for a refund, it was sent back but never got my £70 back from them. live and learn.

Had both a lip spoiler and a set of bonnet struts and while delivery does take a while, they have turned up eventually without any dramas.

When i called him on several different occasions i've found him to be poilte and curteous BUT i've obviously been fortunate.

Just wish he would come on here from time to time to explain things - would save a lot of hassle for himself and maybe keep a few of his disgruntled customers.
